Come join us for a classy evening of jazz music via the musical offerings of noted saxophonist JaShaun Peele & Friends. Also performing are Mr. Larry Gaines & Company. Our Emcee for the evening will be none other than Tyrone “Mighty Ty” Ruffin. Sit back, relax, have some refreshments & enjoy the melodic tunes as these artists soothe your soul with their audible enchantments. Dress for a CLASSY evening of Jazz (no jeans or sneakers permitted).

Judge Vershenia Ballance Moody is a “homegrown” judge. She grew up in the district where she serves which gives her the unique ability to know & understand the citizens who appear in court. Anyone who has been in the courts where she presides knows that she is FIRM but FAIR & has no problem “telling it like it is.” She is the voice of reason, sound judgment & common sense. Just a snippet of Rev. Cornell Watson's sermon at Northampton NAACP's Jubilee Day Celebration! From Exodus Chapt 32. "I'm sick of this Bull & it's making me mad!" What a time, what a time!!!

As I reflect back over the days leading up to this Christmas, I realize how blessed I am to serve our citizens in District 6 with such a dynamic group of women. These are just a few of the memories I had the opportunity to capture.

I was so honored tonight to speak to the young & the young at heart at the District 6 Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) Christmas Celebration. I truly hope they remember my words when they have to make decisions that may effect their lives. "Think about What, Who & 'Hit the QUAN'"😊

I had a great time today helping the young contestants of the Distinguished Young Women of the Roanoke Valley during their 2nd Annual Christmas Home Tour. I spent several hours in the home of Mrs. Lori Pepper & Mr. Pepper who graciously opened their beautifully decorated home for public viewing to help raise money for scholarships for the contestants. Thank you so much Mr. & Mrs. Peppers. I'm still in awe of the huge St. Nick!!!

Aulander's 2015 Christmas Parade, the first one in 12 years, was a great homecoming for me. My hometown crowd welcomed me with wonderful Christmas cheer that just sent me to the moon! It was so fitting that my last Christmas parade of the season, #8, took place here where I was raised! The community tree lighting event that followed was beautifully done as well.
