A lady went to a store in Michigan to look for a birthday cake, she saw an employee and asked if she could write something on the cake, the employee said yes, and after a while Waiting for a long time, the employee came out with the finished cake. The lady thanked her without looking at the result and went to the cash register to pay. When she saw it, she laughed a little but she didn't care that it was ugly written. The cashier looked at the cake and didn't smile...she called the other cashiers to see the cake. They took photos and talked among themselves. A cashier approached the customer, gave her her arm and said, "The employee who wrote your cake has Autism. Thank you for smiling and thanking her, even though she wasn't supposed to do this job, you surely made her day." The moral of the story is that you should be good to all people,

🚨 911 situation🚨
He was taken to the vet today and found to have foreign body (he ate a sock). They elected to euthanize for cost- the vet asked if they could instead find a rescue. They signed surrender to the vet and left him there . Now he’s standing there with tears in his eyes . That picture ripped my heart out. He has to be hurting and sad . They are asking us to help. we didn’t even raise back the funds from medicals this week so to pull this off we need you . The surgery estimate is $3500-4000. I need your help to save his life. This sweet girl has been running scared and loose in the area for over a week according to several passersby. Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement responded to a call that she was injured. Our first Specialist arrived on scene and saw her laying near the road at a ditch. When he approached she went into a small drainage pipe that ran under a driveway. She was dragging her hind legs at that point and we feared she had been hit by a car. Multiple Specialists attempted to rescue her but she pulled herself further into the pipe where we were unable to reach her. We called for assistance from Crowder's Mountain Fire Station 55. With the use of their longest pike pole they were able to urge her far enough into the pipe that Specialist were able to grab her using a catchpole from the other side. It was very stressful for all as the rain came down and the pipe filled with water. Her head went under several times but we were finally able to secure her and pull her from the pipe. Her little body was broken and scraped. We rushed her to the shelter where our shelter staff and vet staff determined by x-ray that her back was broken. They made her as comfortable as possible. I reached out to Forgotten Now Family as I found that this little girl had been forgotten and discarded by those who were supposed to care for her. I know without a doubt that she would have given up in that small drain pipe that was filling with water, and she would have drown.
A very special thank you to the neighbor who called. Thank you to Gaston County Animal Care Specialist on scene who fought in the rain to get her to safety. Thank you to the firefighters from Station 55 who came out and lay on the wet ground with us to pull her to safety. Thank you for our staff at the shelter and Thank You, Thank You ,Thank You to Forgotten Now Family Rescue who saw her, gave her a name (Maybelle) and a chance. Thank you to every single person who has and will donate to give her a sweet safe life where she will be seen and loved.

She was just pulled out of the under ground drainage ditch under a by fire and rescue . She is believed to have a broken back and she’s in excruciating pain. Right now she’s being rushed to hospital in our name because there is 0% chance she is sitting on a shelter floor in pain. This is once again not planned but doing the right thing by her is what we will do. Fam I know your tired of the ask but they don’t have a voice so I will scream for them . We need funds now to save her. Her name is Maybelle. I’m on way to meet the officers at the hospital with her. Stay tuned. 🐾Maybelle we will fight like hell. You just hold on a little longer

Please secure your pets, take them for a ride down the interstate, turn on music or tv’s loud, keep them leashed for potty breaks and best of all…microchips, registered to get them home in the event they run scared. And pray for your soldiers suffering through this celebration.

Get your pets vaccinated! Do you know if your pet has never been vaccinated for rabies and has an encounter with a wild animal, your only choice could be to euthanize your pet? All over a very cheap vaccine?
Also, the vaccine is cheaper than the civil citation if you get caught without it being current!

Tonight as well as several nights to come there will be fireworks galore.
We know beforehand many pets will flee in terror and some it will not end well for. This has already begun, unfortunately.
Please don’t let your pet be a statistic from this holiday celebration of what is loud and terrorizing to animals, including livestock & wildlife.

Tips to help keep your pet safe:
Walk them/let them out for their last potty break well before dark.
Make sure they have well fitted collars & up to date information on their tags and microchips.
Secure any weak spots in your fencing if you refuse to bring them indoors/ or garaged.
CBD oil treats works wonders for calming, thunder shirts help as well.
Turn on the tv or music to help drown out the noise.
Keep your doors and windows shut so they can’t bolt. If you have to leave or open a door secure your pet in a kennel or in another room.

There are so many little things that are simple and easy to protect your pets. Please be mindful so you won’t end up needing us or another service to find your lost & scared pet.

If you are gonna leave them outside, don't get them. Use indoor crates if potty training or anxiety are issues (although a nice comfy bed, like yours is the best!) but don't leave them in the cold.
