If you received a letter or a card marked "official election mail," it is most likely from our office or the NC State Board of Elections.

While we do not mass mail voter registration forms, we do correspond with voters through the mail when additional information is needed, or we've made changes such as a precinct move. We mail letters and - more often - cards.

Voting by mail begins at the end of the week. It’s one way voters can cast their ballot in the November 3 General Election.

What's coming up?

September 4: Absentee-by-mail voting begins
October 9: 5 PM deadline to register to vote or update a current registration
Oct. 15 - 31: Early in-person voting begins at locatons in Gastonia, Cherryville, Dallas, and Mount Holly
November 3: General Election Day with polls open 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM

It's a fact:

Any time a voter makes a change to his/her registration details, that voter is mailed a new card about two weeks after updates process. A Voter Registration Card can be kept for reference if details like legal name, address, and party affiliation are correct. This card has other important details like where to vote on Election Day.
