Woodhill families,

We have had a wonderful start to the new year! We want to give a shout-out Mr. Barnwell and several of our students, who raise the flag every morning according to U.S. Flag Code. These students are learning how to be responsible leaders!

Please remember school begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. Our check-in process for tardies is a little longer this year to ensure student safety, so please be patient with us if you are running late.

Thank you to our families for being patient with buses, as several of our drivers have been out. We will continue to communicate as buses are late. As always, if you have a bus-related issue or question, please call or text Mrs. Tessnear at 980-745-5813, or the school at 704-866-6295.

Good evening Woodhill family,

It's Mrs. Henderson with your Sunday message. I hope you enjoyed the weekend and are ready to begin another week of teaching and learning.

Thank you for making the first days of the school year successful. Please continue to be patient as we work through the dismissal process. It is our goal for dismissal to be fast and safe. Please do not call to change transportation for your child after 1:30 pm. Also, early dismissal will end promptly at 2:00 pm. Finally, students will not be dismissed from the cafeteria as walkers unless they live within walking distance, and this is properly documented. Parents are asked to remain in their vehicles during the dismissal process. Thank you for your cooperation!

The doors will open at 7:00 am, and breakfast will be served until 7:30 am. Please try to get to school before the tardy bell rings at 7:30 am—every minute of the school day matters.

The word of the week is school. A school is defined as a place or institution for teaching and learning. Please discuss the word at home with your child.

Greetings Woodhill family,

Wednesday, August 16th, is the first day of school! We are looking forward to beginning another wonderful year of teaching and learning.

Doors will open at 7:00 am. Breakfast will be served between 7:00 am - 7:30 am. The tardy bell rings at 7:30 am.

Kindergarten students will begin with staggered days. Students with last names starting with letters A-M will attend school for half a day on Wednesday. August 16th. Students with last names N-Z will attend school for half a day on Thursday. Students will be released at 11:30 am. Bus transportation is not available on those days. The first full school day for kindergartners is Friday, August 18th.

Please be patient with our buses as we work out kinks at the beginning of the year. Please help us by completing the transportation form on our website, page, or dojo.

> Wednesday, 12/14: Families are invited to come eat with their 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade students at our Holiday Luncheon! Limit 2 visitors per student. Third grade lunch: 11:15-11:45. Fourth grade lunch: 11:50-12:20. Fifth grade lunch: 12:20-12:50.

> Thursday, 12/15, 5:30-6:30 p.m.: Families are invited to enjoy holiday songs at our Holiday Showcase! Songs will be performed by our kindergarten, first, and second grade students! There will also be a creative activity and instructional information for parents.

You're invited to give to our 2022 United Way Annual Campaign! Please help our school raise money for the community!
**This week, we are playing Penny Wars!!! Students can bring coins OR cash to school to donate.
**Also, we will have a dance party for students on Nov. 15. Students can participate by paying $5. You can can send their money to their teacher.
**On Nov. 16, we will have a raffle. You can buy a ticket for $1, and you can buy as many tickets as you want. Send the money to your child's teacher. The class with the most tickets will win a pizza party!
