What a wonderful way to honor a lady who meant so much to the music world ❤️

In honor of Dolly Parton, the Carter Family Fold will be collecting new children’s books at the show this Saturday, August 29 for children in need.

"Dolly Parton's passing is a profound loss for the entire music world, and for us at the Carter Family Fold, it feels personal. Like the Carter Family, Dolly came from a poor, rural community, and she never forgot where she came from. She wore that upbringing with pride her whole life, and she poured so much back into the community that raised her. That kind of generosity and groundedness is rare, and it's part of why she was so deeply admired.

One of the last projects she lent her support to was helping to commemorate the Carter Family's part in the Bristol Sessions 100 years ago (2027). She also recorded a video that was shown at the ACM Awards when the Carter Family received the Poet's Award, and it meant the world to the family and our organization that she took the time to honor that legacy alongside her own.

Dolly Parton was simply one of the greatest talents ever seen, and we at the Carter Family Fold grieve with everyone and will miss her dearly."

The Library invites everyone to Grogan Park this Saturday, 8/29 from 10am-4pm for a day full of family fun! You can expect live demos, vendors, axe throwing, sword shows, children’s activities, and more! We hope to see you there!

It’s time for some new kicks! 👟

A HUGE thank you to the Rotary Club of Scott County Virginia for helping more than 500 Scott County students head back to school in a brand-new pair of shoes! ❤️

Each year, as part of its backpack program, the Rotary Club works with our local schools to identify students who could use a new pair of school shoes. Through a partnership with Rack Room Shoes club members are able to purchase and distribute shoes to students throughout Scott County. This includes all county schools, Headstart, and Gate City Christian School.

This special program is funded by Rotary fundraisers, including their yearly charity dinner.

We’re grateful for organizations like the Rotary Club of Scott County that continue to show up for our kids and our community year after year. Thank you for investing in Scott County students! 👟❤️

The 2nd Annual Makers & Growers Festival is coming up Saturday, September 26 from 9 AM–2 PM at the Scott County Career & Technical Center!

We’ll have 40+ local farmers, artisans, small businesses, makers, and food truckScott County Career and Technical Centeruce, pumpkins and mums, homemade baked goods, handcrafted items, natural products, boutique finds, and lots more!

Last year’s inaugural festival had a PHENOMENAL turnout, and we’re excited to bring it back even bigger this year! Come shop local, grab something good to eat, support our students at the SCCTC, and celebrate the talented makers and growers right here in our community.

It’s great to see more investment in our community! Congratulations Peak Physique of SWVA for your permanent home! Jenkins School of dance has served our area well for so many years ❤️ We are excited to see this go to good hands!

If you follow our social media post then you may remember a post about a month ago saying Big News is comimg! Well today we can finally share that news! Drum roll please...... 🥁

Peak Physique now has a PERMANANT home — and we couldn’t be more excited.
We have officially purchased the Jenkins School of Dance building, a place filled with history, passion, love, laughter and movement that has been a part of the Gate City community for over 4 decades. Now it becomes the foundation for our own community of strength, support, and tranformation opening the door to allow us to become bigger and stronger and a whole new era of growth.

This isn’t just a building. It’s our future — built on hard work, belief, and the people who show up every day ready to become their best selves, achieve optimal health and be at their peak performance!

Thank you for believing in us! The best is just beginning!! 💪❤️
