Thanks to our K-9 Unit, DJJ is proud to partner with Richmond Animal Care and Control to launch a dog therapy program for our youth.

The Canine Connections program provides a therapeutic outlet for youth in our custody through hands-on interaction with specially selected dogs. Each dog offers an opportunity for healing, connection, and growth and every one of them is 100% adoptable.

Our hope is that after making a meaningful impact on a young person’s life, these dogs will go on to find their forever homes.
