With a population of 2,034, Gate City is seat of Scott County’s government, and the principal gateway from Virginia to East Tennessee and the City of Kingsport. The Town offers residents a quiet location with several vintage and antique stores, as well as department stores,

hardware stores, supermarkets, several restaurants, a park with little league baseball facilities, an elementary, middle and high school and much more, all with quick access to a major metropolitan area in neighboring Kingsport.

Our Blue Devils concluded the state championship track meet with another impressive showing, claiming spots among the leaderboard all day long! Also, our Gate City Boys Track Team finished 10th overall in the state! We are extremely proud of our girls and boys teams and look forward to their success moving forward! GO BIG BLUE!

One of the more exciting updates from SECURE 2.0: 529 plan funds can now be rolled over into a Roth IRA under qualifying circumstances. For families who've been diligently saving for college, this adds a meaningful layer of flexibility.

A few things to keep in mind:
✅ The 529 must have been open for at least 15 years
✅ There are annual and lifetime limits on how much can be rolled over
✅ The rollover counts toward the Roth IRA contribution limit for that year
