The ceremony included the dedication of a new flagpole in our garden, creating a lasting space for reflection and remembrance. 🏳️✨

We are grateful to everyone who helped make this event meaningful and respectful. 🙏🇺🇸

🏀🤝 Alfred D. Hughes Unit had the privilege of hosting students from Harvard and Yale for a friendly basketball game with our inmates.

⛹️‍♂️ Events like these create meaningful opportunities for connection, teamwork, and positive engagement. Through sports, participants from different backgrounds came together to build mutual respect, foster understanding, and share an experience centered on sportsmanship and community. 🌟

👏 We appreciate the students for taking the time to visit and participate, and we thank everyone who helped make this event a success.

🎓✨ Mind, Body & Soul (MBS) Medium Custody Graduation – May 17, 2026 ✨🎓

The Alfred D. Hughes Unit proudly hosted the Mind, Body & Soul (MBS) Medium Custody Graduation, recognizing 21 graduates for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to overcoming challenges through rehabilitation and personal growth.

This achievement reflects the hard work and determination of the participants as they continue striving toward positive change and success.

A special thank you to the facilitators, Life Coaches, CVSD, and Major Hatchett for their continued mentorship, encouragement, and support in making this program meaningful and impactful.

Over the past several days, our unit had the privilege of welcoming leadership for individual walkthrough visits. We appreciate the time each of them took to meet with staff, observe daily operations, and offer their support. Below are the highlights from each visit: 👇

CID Deputy Director L.E. Townsend
We were pleased to welcome CID Deputy Director L.E. Townsend during his visit. Director Townsend engaged with staff, observed our daily operations, and offered encouraging feedback on the work being done across the unit. His support and positive insight were truly appreciated. 👍✨

CID Director Eric Guerrero
We also had the privilege of hosting CID Director Eric Guerrero for his walkthrough. Director Guerrero visited key areas of the facility, spoke with staff, and expressed appreciation for the professionalism and dedication shown throughout the unit. His leadership and continued support mean a great deal to our team. 👏💼

Region II Director Anthony Newton
We were especially honored to welcome Region II Director Anthony Newton, our direct supervisor. Director Newton spent meaningful time with staff, acknowledged ongoing efforts, and provided guidance that reinforces the strong direction of our unit.
