Ever wonder who helps guide growth and development in Gates County?
Meet the Planning Board!
The Gates County Planning Board helps review ideas and plans related to land use, development, zoning, and growth across the county. Their goal is to support smart development while helping preserve what makes Gates County special.
Board members serve an important role by:
✔ Reviewing and making recommendations concerning the Zoning Ordinance and Amendments
✔ Making recommendations to County Commissioners on rezoning requests
✔ Helping plan for the future growth of our community
✔ Giving local residents a voice in how Gates County grows
The Planning Board meets once a month, and members serve 3-year terms.
Right now, there are TWO vacant seats that need to be filled, and we’re looking for community-minded residents who want to serve their community and help shape the future of Gates County.
You do not need to be an expert in planning or development to serve. If you care about Gates County and want to get involved, we encourage you to apply!
