Happy Independence Day! Unfortunately, we had more storms in the area last evening. The river is just below 6 feet and very fast. We will not be doing tubes today at all. Minimum age will be 18 or older - you must be physically fit and able to swim. PFDs are mandatory for all guests - no exceptions! The Park Rangers will close the river at 6 feet so be advised it may close today. Signed Mr. Pale Whale

The Ferne Clyffe waterfall is an intermittent waterfall. It stands in at about 100 feet in height. With the Heavy rains, this spring the waterfall has been flowing nicely this year. Ferne Clyffe State Park is located in Shawnee Forest Country in Southernmost Illinois. The waterfall is reachable by two different trails the lower waterfall trail is a very easy walk to the base of the waterfall.
