Have you ever wondered if dinosaurs once roamed around your town? Learn about dinosaurs and other very large creatures that lived in the Appalachian region millions of years ago. Students will measure and compare their own footprint to a life-size Triceratops footprint, excavate a “dino egg,” and explore fossils and other activities with the Hands On! Discovery Center based at the Gray Fossil Site & Museum in Gray, Tennessee.

Join us on June 22, at 1 p.m. This program is geared toward children K-8, and is part of our Unearth A Story Summer Reading Program. No registration required!

Stay away from the dinosaurs with Alan and Ellie in the classic 1993 dino blockbuster. Themed attire is encouraged. Popcorn will be provided. All ages welcome!

Did you know that cats were rarely depicted in the art of Ancient Greece? But why? They were actually relative latecomers to the region, arriving around the 4th century B.C.E. While felines were being worshipped in Egypt, the ancient Greeks were actually using weasels and ferrets as pest control. And, dogs were the preferred household companions. The Egyptians knew what was up.

So come dig deep into archaeology and art history with us on June 25th, at 10 a.m. Registration is required and is restricted to ages 50+. This is part of our Summer Reading Program, Unearth A Story. To register, please call (865) 436-5588.
