🦃🌲 HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE — REGISTRATION IS OPEN! 🌲🦃

Looking to earn your Alabama Hunter Education certification? Join us for a full day of learning, safety, and fun right here in Cherokee County!

635 Armory Road, Centre, AL 35960

This is a traditional Hunter Education course, and we’re working hard to make it a great experience for everyone who attends!

👕 Every student receives a T-shirt
🧢 Every student receives a hunter orange cap
🎁 Door prizes throughout the day

The course is limited to 100 participants, so don’t wait to register! As of today, 83 seats are still available. (Hunter Education⁠)

Whether you’re a young hunter getting started or an adult who still needs your certification, this is a great opportunity to complete the course in person and learn the importance of safe, responsible hunting and conservation.

This is a traditional hunter education course. The time will be from 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. An hour lunch will be taken at 12:00 P.M. Recommend bringing any drinks/snacks/lunch you may need for the day.

Well…what a night! ❤️🦃

On behalf of the Northeast Alabama Longbeards NWTF Chapter, thank you to everyone who came out, bought a ticket, volunteered, donated, bid in the auctions, purchased raffle tickets, and helped make this year’s banquet such a success. We are blessed to have one of the best groups of people around.

Because of your generosity, we raised approximately $32,250 that will go back into conservation, wildlife habitat, hunter recruitment, outdoor education, and supporting the future of hunting right here in Alabama. That’s something every one of you should be proud of!

Registration opens August 12, so keep an eye on our page for all the details. We’ll have room for 100 participants, and the course is open to anyone ages 10 and up who needs their Hunter Education certification. If you’ve been putting it off, now’s the time!

🎓 In December, we’ll once again hold our Bill Shepard Memorial Scholarship Raffle. We’ll be giving away five great prizes, and every dollar raised helps provide scholarships for deserving students in our community. If you or your business would like to donate an item or prize, we’d sure appreciate it. Just reach out to any of our committee members.

Our FREE Women’s Firearm Workshop is coming up on October 10. Whether you’ve never picked up a firearm or just want to become more comfortable and confident, we’d love to have you join us.

Through the Alabama NWTF Super Fund, our conservation efforts help provide opportunities like our upcoming Hunter Safety Course on September 12 at no cost for ages 10 and up.

NWTF also supports habitat development and management in our local public hunting areas, including Little River, Skyline, Scottsboro, and Choccolocco public hunting grounds.

We also proudly offer a yearly scholarship to support the next generation. This year’s selected scholarship winner was John Michael Murphy.
