We're fixing to paint a new mural in the children's area so it's in disarray this week.
If you'd like to check out some children's materials we can let you in to browse, but we're not set up for family play time.
We hope to complete the mural this week and have the children's area open for regular use by next Monday.

We had a nice turnout for our Living Treasures local history program. The audience sat in rapt attention as the speakers shared stories, anecdotes, and lore of G**s Mills. We hope to hold more events like this in the future!
Brian McKnight talked about the history of the Crawford County Fair Grounds, to***co farming, and E. Tex Reddick. Janet Teach talked about Sunrise Orchards history with a little help from Jim Maybee. And Marilyn McManamy talked about living in the mill house by the dam and the dramatic floods she's witnessed and been rescued from.

Happy Book Lovers Day to our wonderful patrons!
Every smile, every question we can help you with, everytime we read a story to a child or listen to your kids giggling in the book nook, every movie we watch together, craft we create, and thing we learn...each and every thing we do with you makes our job worthwhile.

We had a fun and informative time last Saturday with Jim Winter the Driftless Digger, with a little help from Clovis Larson.
Jim gave a lovely presentation of some of his most impressive finds, and then we went detecting in the backyard ($12.50 in dollar and half-dollar coins was pre-buried by the librarian on duty).
Jim is such a great ambassador for the hobby of metal detecting, and he does his best to piece together the history of his finds and get the artifacts back to the families they belong to. He's got some great stories!
