Thirsting for Knowledge Thursday

This famous costume designer for theatrical works such as Amphitryon 38 (Lynn shown wearing in the middle image) and Idiot's Delight (Lynn wearing far left) contributed to almost 100 theatrical productions. This person's signature designs were adapted for stage functionality. Costume work evolved into couture and a storefront on Madison Avenue for notable clients such as Lynn Fontanne, Katherine Hepburn, and Greta Garbo just to name a few.

Lynn Fontanne, a notable seamstress herself, took this designer's ideas to create her own dresses.
