This evening, your White Springs volunteers completed their annual CPR/AED refresher. Each year, our members train to obtain, refresh, or renew their certification in BLS CPR so that any member who answers the call is well prepared to assist our community.

In addition to BLS, six newer members completed the narcan administration course to be able to identify and assist in opioid overdose related emergencies.

We’d like to congratulate and thank the fifteen members who participated tonight, especially the three members who completed their first two formal training courses tonight with these classes.

We would like to thank our friends at Friendly Ford Geneva and the Ford Motor Company for this partnership as well as all of the community members who came out in support of this event. This donation will go a long way to supporting the operations of our department and ensuring we can provide a top quality service for our community.

Here's what your test drives helped accomplish. 💙

In May, we hosted our Drive For Your Community event benefiting the White Springs Fire Association. For every test drive completed, Ford Motor Company donated $60, and Friendly Ford Geneva matched the total to double the impact. 🚒💨

Last Friday, we had the privilege of presenting a $3,000 donation to the White Springs Fire Association. 👏

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this donation possible. Together, we proved that something as simple as a test drive can make a difference right here in our community. 🤝

This evening, your White Springs Fire Association volunteers completed an Engine Company drill which involved multiple components.

Experienced members received training in pumping the fire engine to ensure their competence in serving as an engine operator. Newer members focused on basic skills like establishing hydrants and utilizing a fire hose.

Having a mixed training like this allows all members to participate fully at their experience level and continue to expand their knowledge base.

We’ve been extremely fortunate to receive a handful of new members this year so far and are always accepting new members. Please reach out if you are interested in joining!

Training Today (6/13/26)

Yesterday, we took time to kick off National EMS Week by recognizing and thanking our department EMS providers. While they are extremely hardworking providers, they only tell part of the story.

Beyond our licensed providers, we also have additional members who go above and beyond to assist our community on medical calls for service. For many members, EMS is not why they got into the fire service. However, that doesn’t stop them from making sure that they show up, answer the call, and provide assistance to our community members.

We make sure that all of our firefighters are trained in basic first aid, CPR/AED, narcan administration, and Stop the Bleed. In this way, no matter who responds, you always receive a dedicated and well-trained responder to assist you before our partners on the ambulance arrive.

While our entire agency does a phenomenal job at showing up for our community, we’d like to take a moment to recognize the following firefighters who consistently show up for EMS calls to assist our EMTs, our partners in EMS, and our patients:

As we kick off the 2026 EMS Week, we’d like to take a moment to thank our departments EMS providers. These members hold state certifications as EMTs and spend a great deal of time responding to emergency calls as well as in training to maintain their certifications.
