Attention Seniors: The Friends of the Limberlost are offering a scholarship for the Next Generation of Naturalists! Interested Indiana resident seniors can submit a poem, essay or other written work about an experience in nature that inspired you. Submissions can be no more than 750 words and no Generative AI can be used. Submissions are due by July 12.

This International Woman’s Day we celebrate Gene! She is an amazing part of Hoosier history and did all she could to protect the wilds of Indiana. Her writing reached millions of readers and helped to inspire groups to preserve the natural beauty around them.

Did you know: Gene was a founding member of the Isaak Walton League and helped start the National Elk Refuge in Wyoming? She was one amazing woman and we can’t wait to share more of her story with you. Visit us soon!
