Pam Helming and State Senate Republicans continue to play politics with critical services needed to support victims of abuse. As a result of Donald Trump's drastic cuts to VOCA Victim Compensation grants, advocacy organizations throughout New York faced a massive shortfall in funding. But thanks to Governor Hochul, an additional $36 million in state funding for victim assistance programs statewide will be administered through the New York State Office of Victim Services to make up for these federal cuts, on top of the $50+ million she's already invested.

For Pam to now take credit for this funding backfill is extremely disingenuous. Swooping in to claim credit for solving a crisis created by the Trump Administration is simply a campaign tactic to distract from Pam's limited ability to deliver critical resources for our region as a member of the minority party.

Take a few minutes to watch the speeches here from the rally against the conversion of Greenidge’s bitcoin mining facility on Seneca Lake to an AI data center. Greenidge may have rebranded as “Vulcan Infrastructure and Power” but it’s the same old out of state investors who want to triple the energy capacity they’re drawing from the grid and get rich at the expense of our local environment and energy rate payers.

We had a great time at Ciccino’s this week at Alissa Ellman’s Pizza and Pop event! The turnout and energy were incredible. So much excitement around Alissa’s campaign to defeat Claudia Tenney. Thanks to all who came. We have a few more Ellman for Congress yard signs, DM with your address and we’ll bring one over!

“Ellman, 42, is the Democratic nominee in New York’s 24th Congressional District, an expanse populated by dairy farms, apple orchards, and small towns with populations that rarely surpass 10,000. A child of a working-class family, Ellman joined the US Army at 17, was sent to Afghanistan, was exposed to the Army’s toxic burn pits there, and got a deadly cancer. She beat the cancer with medical care from the Veterans Administration and later went to work at the VA helping other veterans get needed services. Then, in February 2025, she was among the first federal workers fired by Elon Musk and DOGE.”

Great turnout at last night’s Ontario County Democratic Committee picnic at the lakefront in Geneva! Great to see State Senate candidate Michael Mills, State Assembly candidates Fleming for NYS AD131 and Gladys Flores Garcia For NYS Assembly, Ontario County Treasurer candidate Julio Chavez, South Bristol Supervisor Lisa Moore as well as Congressman Joe Morelle and so many of our local elected leaders.
