🚨 SCAM ALERT: Bail Bonding Scam Reported in Coffee County 🚨

The Coffee County Sheriff's Office has received several complaints regarding a bail bonding scam. Victims have been contacted by phone or text from someone pretending to be a bondsman or a Sheriff’s Office official, claiming they can assist with getting a friend or family member out of jail. The scammers then request payment through apps such as Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, or by asking for gift cards.

Please remember:
🔹 Legitimate bail bonds require in-person paperwork.
🔹 A real bondsman will NOT request payment over the phone or through payment apps.
🔹 The Sheriff’s Office will never call or text requesting money.

If you receive a call or text like this, do not send any money. If you are concerned about the legitimacy of a bonding situation, come to the Coffee County Jail in person to verify the information.

Stay alert and help us spread the word to protect others from becoming victims of this scam.
