Geneva Nebraska Public Library The Geneva Public Library, located at 1043 G Street, Geneva, Nebraska, was built in 1912 as a Carnegie library. The Library maintains over 24,000 volumes.

Geneva Public Library is both a physical and virtual location that provides materials and information for people of all ages to fulfill education and entertainment needs. A 5,600 square foot addition was built in 1995, bringing the total square footage of the library to 15,200. The addition was funded by private donations and a Peter Kiewit Matching Grant of $75,000. The Library is open Monday thr

ough Saturday for a total of 46 hours per week. The library is currently staffed by one full-time and two part-time employees, and the gardens surrounding the library are maintained by the Secret Garden committee. Resources include books, magazines, VHS and DVD movies, books on CD, and music CD’s. The library has eleven computers with wireless internet service and various software, a fax machine, and a copy machine. There are three meeting rooms available for use. The library offers programs and activities year round, including LEGO® Night the fourth Thursday of each month from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., summer reading program from mid-May to to July 31, and Teen Activities Group (TAG) just to name a few. The Genealogy Society of Fillmore County meets in the Small Meeting Room of the library on the first Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m.

Have you tried the Fillmore County Digital Archive?
In February 2018, the five libraries throughout Fillmore County came together to accomplish a major goal: to digitize all historical newspapers from Fillmore County, and have the full text searchable database available to the public by March 2021. This covered newspapers dating back to 1872, and included newspapers from Exeter, Fairmont, Geneva, Grafton, Milligan, Ohiowa, Shickley, and Strang. Moving forward, a two year waiting period will be observed between publishing date of the newspaper and when it appears in this database.
The archive also has other items such as selected yearbooks, the book "The Fillmore County Story", items about the airbase, and much more.

These newspapers have been made available to the community for the purpose of research, study and to satisfy curiosity.
