Beginning Monday, June 15, 2026, Genoa Public Works will be replacing a culvert on Madison Street. This work will require the closure of Madison Street south of Walnut Street.

The roadway is expected to reopen by 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Please refer to the exhibit below for the road closure location and designated detour route. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and follow all posted detour signs while traveling through the area.

As National Public Works Week comes to a close, the City of Genoa would like to recognize and thank our Public Works Department for the hard work, dedication, and pride they bring to our community every day.

Public Works plays an important role in keeping Genoa safe, clean, and moving forward. From maintaining streets, sidewalks, water and sewer systems, parks, trees, public buildings, stormwater systems, snow and ice operations, and so much more, their work touches nearly every part of daily life in our community. Much of this work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is seen and felt throughout the City every day.
