The Genoa Public Library District announces (2) full six-year terms and (2) two-year unexpired term positions open for election to the Board of Trustees during the April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election. Candidate packets will be available beginning Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the library during open hours and nomination petitions may begin to be circulated the same day.

A minimum of (14) signatures by eligible registered voters are required on the petition in order to get one's name on the election ballet. Candidates must file completed forms and petitions at the library during the filing period beginning November 16, 2026 at 9:00 am through November 23, 2026 at 5:00 pm. Paperwork will not be accepted before or after the filing period.

Candidates must: (1) be registered voters who have resided within the boundaries of the Genoa Public Library District for at least one year at the time of filing nomination papers; (2) not be in arrears in the payment of a tax or other indebtedness due to the library district; and (3) not have been convicted of an infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or other felony.

REMINDER! Join us for our first community shoe drive tomorrow afternoon with Family Service Agency of DeKalb County from 3-5:30 pm in our Event Room!

👟👠👢👞 Join us for our first Mobile Community Shoe Box Drive at the library on Tuesday, 8/18 in the afternoon from 3:00-5:30 pm in the Event Room. The drive is hosted by Family Service Agency of DeKalb County and provides shoes to DeKalb County residents at no cost. Residents can claim shoes for themselves or a family member - no ID needed!
