WC ESD 7: Andice - Florence Fire Department WCESD #7 provides fire, rescue, and EMS services to 134 square miles of Northwest Williamson County.

Williamson County Emergency Service District No.7 (WC ESD 7) is a combination department compromised of both paid and volunteer personnel. A group of dedicated volunteers respond to calls to assist the on duty personnel as well as responding as the primary responders when there are multiple calls. The department has paid staff on duty 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. These individuals work a rotating schedule that is 48 hours on and 96 hours off. This ensures that 3 certified firefighter / EMT-Basics are always on duty. The department also has an Operations Captain on duty from 8am to 6pm Monday through Thursday that handles the daily operations of the department and is available to respond to incidents. The Chief Executive Officer / Fire Chief is part-time for WC ESD 7 and a full time Battalion Chief with Georgetown Fire / Rescue. The Executive Board is comprised of 5 dedicated individuals that volunteer their time to oversee the finances of the department.

Captain Pfleiderer has demonstrated dedication, leadership, and a commitment to serving both our department and the community.

This promotion is a reflection of his hard work and the trust placed in him to lead, mentor, and support the firefighters serving alongside him.

🚒 **A FIRST FOR WCESD #7!** 🚒

We are excited to announce the arrival of our brand-new ladder truck—the first in our department’s history!

This addition expands our capabilities and gives our crews even more opportunities to serve and protect our growing community.

A heartfelt thank-you to our **ESD Board of Commissioners** for supporting and approving this purchase and for their continued commitment to the safety of our residents and firefighters.

We also extend our appreciation to **Battalion Chief Rogers and everyone who served on the apparatus committee** for their time, dedication, and hard work in bringing this new truck to our department.

Thank you to **Metro Fire** for building our new ladder truck and helping make this exciting milestone possible!

ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE: Roadway Open

❗️ATTENTION Florence High school & Middle School ❗️

Due to downed power lines on 970 in front of the High school Meat market entrance, the entire roadway is shut down. Crews are currently waiting on the arrival of Oncor.

All traffic to and from the High-school can still utilize the High school main entrance (if coming from South Patterson).

Hwy 183 remains shut down at this time. Will update when roadway is open.

❗️Traffic Collision ❗️

Highway 183 is completely shut down between 970 & CR 236 due to an 18 Wheeler Accident. Crews are on scene with Law enforcement. Please expect delays while heavy wrecker begins working on moving the vehicle.

No injuries reported.

✅ Update 3:56PM - US Highway 183 has reopened.

Northbound and southbound US Highway 183 will be shut down for about one to two hours while crews upright an overturned 18‑wheeler. This was a single-vehicle crash.

US 183 is closed from SH 138 to CR 217.

Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
