It’s Hurricane Preparedness Month—secure your space before the winds pick up 💨

If you can pick it up, put it up!

That cute patio chair? Projectile 🪑
That garden gnome? Projectile 🪴
Your trampoline? Definitely trying to leave the neighborhood 😅

Strong winds can turn yard items into flying hazards fast, so bring in anything that isn’t anchored down before the storm rolls through ⚠️

It’s Hurricane Preparedness Month—know your risks and how to stay safe before a storm arrives

🌊 Run from Water...

Storm surge is the abnormal rise of water above predicted tide levels. It's caused by a storm's winds and pressure pushing water onto dry land. It's expressed in feet above ground level.

During a hurricane, storm surge and inland flooding threaten life and property more than high wind ⚠️

It’s Hurricane Preparedness Month—stay safe both before and during your time at the coast 🌊

Memorial Day weekend often means time at the beach ☀️
If you’re heading to the coast, remember to practice rip current safety:

🚩 Check the local beach forecast and flag conditions before you go.

🏊 Know what to do if caught in a rip current: stay calm, don’t fight it, and swim parallel to the shore until you’re out of the current. Then signal for help.

👀 Always keep a close eye on children near the water.
