During the FIRST HOUR of yesterday's storm event, Brown County Communications/ 911 received 90% of the calls typically received in a 24-huor period. During the 2nd and 3rd hours combined, we received 75% of the calls typically received in a 24-hour period. The dedicated employees on staff did a TREMENDOUS job answering calls and coordinating help among the first responders. I wish to thank all of them for their efforts, and all the citizens for your patience and understanding during this hectic time!

Brown County Communications/911 has just received the following from T Mobile

notification:
Some customers in your area may potentially experience a temporary weakening or loss of T-Mobile wireless service.
This issue does not impact the ability to call or text 911 for customers who have service. Unless told otherwise by public safety, customers should generally attempt to call 911 in case of an emergency.

Brown, Highland and Mason Counties are affected.

We will pass on any updates as soon as they are made available by T Mobile.

As a reminder, Brown County does not activate weather sirens unless there is a tornado warning in our county. Last night, Mason County KY activated their sirens due to a tornado warning in KY. Those living in southern Brown County may have heard these sirens, but the NWS had not issued a warning for us.
