🇺🇸 HARD WORK PAYS OFF 🇺🇸

Help us congratulate PFC Thomas on a huge accomplishment with the Delaware Army National Guard! 👏

Thomas first enlisted on November 13, 2025 as an 09M – ASVAB Enhancement Course candidate, determined to improve his opportunities and set himself up for success. He put in the work, stayed committed, and raised his ASVAB score by 20 points. 📚🔥

Because of that effort, Thomas is now moving forward into his career as an 88M – Motor Transport Operator. 🚛💪

His story is proof that where you start does not have to be where you finish. If your test score is holding you back, that does not always mean your journey is over. Some applicants may qualify for the 09M program, which gives them the chance to improve their ASVAB score and earn the opportunity to move into the job they want.

Thomas took that opportunity seriously — and it paid off.

On December 16, 2025, PV2 Bamaca took a huge step by enlisting as a 92G – Food Service Specialist while still a senior in high school. 🎓🪖

That means they didn’t wait until graduation to start building their future — she already started her time in service and began earning a monthly paycheck while still finishing school. 💰🔥

As a 92G, they’ll play an important role in keeping Soldiers fueled, ready, and mission capable. It’s a job built on responsibility, teamwork, and supporting the mission every day.

This is what getting ahead looks like — serving your state, gaining experience, and getting paid while your peers are still trying to figure out their next move.

Richard recently transferred from the U.S. Navy Reserve and is continuing his military journey with the Guard as a 25U – Signal Support Systems Specialist. 📡💻

With prior service experience already under his belt, Richard is bringing valuable knowledge and leadership to the team. His long-term goal is to pursue the Warrant Officer path in Army Aviation, taking his career to the next level and working toward becoming an aviation technical expert. 🚁

We’re proud to have him continue his service with the Delaware Guard and look forward to seeing where this next chapter takes him.

🚨 Delaware National Guard Activated for Winter Storm Fern 🚨

The Delaware National Guard has been activated in support of as the State of Delaware prepares for significant snow and ice impacts.

The Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) has been operating at an Enhanced Watch level and will move to Full Activation beginning Sunday at 8:00 a.m., coordinating response efforts alongside state and local partners from the State Emergency Operations Center.

More than 100 Delaware Guardsmen and dozens of military vehicles are postured across the state to assist as needed with community support, emergency response, and life-sustaining operations.

Governor Matt Meyer has declared a State of Emergency, urging Delawareans to prepare now, avoid travel once conditions worsen, and follow guidance from state and local officials.

💙 The Delaware National Guard is made up of your friends, family, and neighbors — ready to support our communities and help keep Delaware safe during this storm.

🎓 FAFSA Help Night at Sussex Central High School 🎓

Sussex Central High School will be hosting a FAFSA Financial Aid Assistance Night to support families with completing the FAFSA for college, career, and technical education planning.

📅 Date: January 28
⏰ Time: 4:00–6:00 PM
📍 Location: Sussex Central High School

This event is open to students and parents/guardians. Staff and advisors will be available to help answer questions and guide families through the FAFSA process.

Completing the FAFSA is an important step in qualifying for federal grants, loans, scholarships, and state aid.
