Williamson County Democrats

Williamson County Democrats Williamson County Democrats are fighting for a fair shot for all, no matter who you are, what you look like, where you’re from, or who you love. WHO ARE WE?

We are an open and inclusive party dedicated to big ideas and a bright future. The Williamson County Democratic Party is dedicated to electing qualified, principled Democrats to serve as elected officials – from the top of the ballot to the bottom of the ballot, in partisan elections and in non-partisan elections. Williamson County Democrats, like all Texas Democrats, strive to ensure that every T

exan can expect REAL JUSTICE -- moral, legal, and economic justice -- in Texas, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, or sexual orientation. Texas Democrats believe that governmental policies must enhance the lives of all Texans, that elected officials must use the power afforded them by voters to maximize REAL OPPORTUNITY -- educational, economic, civic, and political opportunity -- for all. Texas Democrats work to provide quality education to all Texans from preschool through college, to ensure that workers are paid a living wage and equal wages for equal work, to protect individuals and minorities from infringement of their civil, political, and economic rights -- by government, social organizations, and private individuals. We are committed to ensuring that every resident of Texas can participate in the civil and economic life of our society and in our political system without discrimination or repression. We want Texas returned to a REAL DEMOCRACY and demand that our elected officials and public servants achieve that goal. WE ARE DEMOCRATS. WE STAND FOR REAL JUSTICE. WE STAND FOR REAL OPPORTUNITY. WE STAND FOR REAL DEMOCRACY. HOW CAN YOU BECOME A MEMBER OF THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY? Any Democrat in Williamson County can become a member of the WCDP. You become an official member of our party when you do any of the following:
(1) Vote in the bi-annual Democratic Party Primary Elections. (2) Sign an Oath of Affiliation with the Democratic Party. (3) Become a working member of one of our action committees. (4) Volunteer for the Wilco or Texas Democratic Party or a Democratic candidate. (5) Donate to the WCDP. Please note, however, that although donations to help our party achieve its goals are crucial to our success to bringing sanity back into the Texas political system, and thus donations are always appreciated, no membership or other fee is or ever will be required for a person to become a member of the Williamson County Democratic Party or the Texas Democratic Party. We encourage every Democrat in our county to join us as we work to return Williamson County, the State of Texas, and the U.S. Government to a real democracy, back to a time when our elected officials believed in, stood for, and fought for basic civil and human rights, religious liberty and separation of church and state, and good governance focused on the public interest and absence of corruption.

“Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory or an acceptance of the way things are. It’s a celebration of progress. It’s an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible—and there is still so much work to do.” -Barack Obama

Join two of our WilCo Nominees, Heather Jefts for County Judge and Chris Jimenez for HD 52, to learn about their vision for WilCo's future and help build the momentum to win these critical races.

Big news WilCo! I'm joining forces with my good friend and Texas House HD 52 candidate Chris Jimenez for HD 52 for the WilCo Forward Fundraiser on June 18th!

Chris and I are running to deliver practical and ethical leadership that puts working families first, strengthens public education, and makes sure Williamson County government works for the people it serves.

Join us for an evening with supporters from across the county, hear our vision for WilCo's future, and help build the momentum to win these critical races.

“I defended Ken Paxton for years in the impeachment trial and in state criminal cases,” Cogdell said on his podcast. “But in my view, respectfully, I think Ken has lost sight of his core mission, which is to represent the people of Texas. And unlike Ken, I believe to my core, James, that you believe in unity over division and that you know how to assemble not only Democrats, but independents and Republicans — and we need that right now.” - Dan Cogdell, a veteran Houston attorney who represented Paxton in his long-running felony securities fraud case and his 2023 impeachment.

Dan Cogdell, who represented Paxton for nearly a decade in two high-profile cases, said his former client “has lost sight of his core mission.”

Had a wonderful Saturday in Cameron and Round Rock!

Jeanette Jacoby, Chairman of the Milam County Democratic Party , put together an excellent program from 10 to 12 for Dr. Klenz for Texas House District 17 and myself, I then attended the Pride Festival in Round Rock from 3:30 to 7:00.
The Pride Festival was an especially joyous occasion. I was free to be my very extroverted self and I met a lot of extroverts there as well; we just all had a great time!
