Swim instructors needed! ๐Ÿ›Ÿ

The Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department is hiring for swim instructors. Both seasonal and year-round, on-call positions are available. Positions are for people age 16 and older. Pay ranges start at $14.50. Other benefits include flexible schedules, free membership to the recreation and tennis centers, free summer pool passes, paid certifications and growth opportunities.

It's going to be freaky! ๐ŸŽฌ

The Sunset Movie Series, presented by the Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation, is headed back to San Gabriel Park this summer!

We're kicking things off TOMORROW with Freakier Friday (PG) at 8 p.m. on the event lawn.

Come early starting at 7 p.m. to secure your spot (bring a blanket or chairs!), enjoy FREE popcorn and visit with our vendors. The first 100 guests will receive a free shaved ice from Gypsy Ice!

In observance of Memorial Day, the Parks and Recreation Department will be closed on Monday, May 25. This affects the following facilities: Recreation Center, Tennis Center, and Parks Administration Office.

Garey Park will be open with regular operating hours, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Live on the Lawn is back at Garey Park starting next week! ๐ŸŽถ

Join us on Wednesday, May 27 from 7-9 p.m. to enjoy music from Los Desechos, an Austin-based band with a mission to blow up local dance floors with feel-good original Cumbias that resonate with the soul and make the body feel alive.

Tickets are $5 per person for ages 10+, with food trucks and beer/wine available for purchase on-site. This is an all-ages event.

NOTICE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is releasing water from Lake Georgetown due to high lake levels caused by recent rainfall. All low water crossings along the Randy Morrow Trail are currently closed.
