Georgetown PD Explorer Post 152

Georgetown PD Explorer Post 152 Exploring is the young adult career education program of learning for life for both young men and women who are age 14 through 20 years of age.

The Georgetown Police Explorer Post allows for teens and young adults (ages 14-20) to learn about the career of law enforcement in a fun and hands on environment. Law Enforcement Exploring is a youth development program centered on law enforcement careers. Law Enforcement Explorers might choose to take part in crime prevention activities, community policing, traffic control, fingerprinting, ride-a

longs, patrol procedures and connecting activities with high schools, court systems and national state and local academies. The bottom line is that Law Enforcement Exploring is an action oriented,hands on career discovery program. Exploring is a division of the Boy Scouts of America. To participate, an individual:

Must be between the ages of 14 and 20. Must pass a background check, and be in good standing with their school and community
Must be of good moral character, be of good health, be in good mental condition and have a desire to enter law enforcement or some form of leadership career. Must be able to attend a weekly meeting held Monday nights between the hours of 5:30pm and 8:00pm (these times are subject to change), and also have open flexibility to attend community events or Explorer competitions, which occur mainly on weekends.

We are back in person for meetings! Our schedule has changed slightly.

Meetings will be on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Monday each month. We will be having an OPEN HOUSE on Monday, June 13th for interested future Explorers from 6p to 8p. Please share and invite others who would like to visit during this OPEN HOUSE. We will give a short tour of our Police Department and talk about the different subjects we cover while teaching. You will also have the opportunity to speak with our current Post Members about their experience and ask questions.

Out of abundance of precaution, our in-person meetings have been postponed until further notice. We sincerely enjoy our in person meetings but place the health and safety of our cadets at the highest priority. I will update when in-person meetings will resume but please feel free to email [email protected] for information on the Explorer program.

Our cadets are having weekly touch bases with mentors and looking to schedule virtual meetings until we can resume training together in person. Nothing can stop us from making a difference and preparing for future careers!!

Sorry this is super late but what an AWESOME academy! We had a lot of great subjects covered, met some really amazing Law Enforcement Officers from different agencies and most importantly, learn that we set standards for ourselves to be the BEST we can every day. Great job! I'm very proud of Post 152!

Blue Santa Registration is CLOSED and will open October 26th. Applications must be received by 5p on December 4th. Pick up will be held on Saturday, December 19th from 10a-2p at 3500 DB Wood Rd.
