Our deepest condolences to the Franklin County Fire & Rescue family following the passing of Firefighter Kolby Tucker.

Local 4215 extends our heartfelt sympathies to Kolby’s family, loved ones, friends, and fellow firefighters during this incredibly difficult time.

Although three years may seem like a short time, the impact a firefighter has on their department and the people they serve can last a lifetime. Kolby’s dedication, willingness to learn, and commitment to becoming a better firefighter clearly made him a valued member of the Franklin County Fire & Rescue family.

We stand with our brothers and sisters at Franklin County Fire & Rescue as they mourn the loss of one of their own. May you find strength in one another, in the memories you shared with Kolby, and in the brotherhood of the fire service.

Rest easy, Firefighter Tucker. We’ll take it from here.

Today, Local 4215 proudly recognizes and celebrates Assistant Chief Justin Baker as he retires after 22 years of dedicated service to the Scott County Fire Department.

For more than two decades, Assistant Chief Baker has faithfully served the citizens of Scott County with professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the fire service. Throughout his career, he has answered countless calls for help, mentored generations of firefighters, and helped shape the department through his leadership and experience.

His impact extends far beyond emergency scenes. The knowledge he shared, the example he set, and the relationships he built will continue to influence the department for years to come.

On behalf of the members of Local 4215, we thank Assistant Chief Baker for his 22 years of service, dedication, and sacrifice. Congratulations on a well-earned retirement. We wish you and your family many years of health, happiness, and new adventures in this next chapter.

Last night, members of IAFF Local 4215 were honored to attend the Woodford County Fiscal Court meeting, where they were recognized for their role in the suppression of the historic Wilson's Pool Room fire earlier this month.

We are incredibly proud of the members of the Scott County Fire Department who answered the call for mutual aid, standing shoulder to shoulder with our neighboring departments during one of the most significant fires in our region's recent history. Their professionalism, teamwork, and dedication exemplify the values of the fire service and the commitment firefighters make to protecting lives and property—no matter where they are needed.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Judge/Executive James Kay, the Woodford County Fiscal Court, and the City of Versailles for recognizing the efforts of all the firefighters who responded to this incident. It is an honor to serve our communities and to support our neighbors when they need us most.

Congratulations to all of the Scott County Fire Department members who received this Recognition of Heroism. We are proud to call you our brothers.
