As the weather warms up and we start seeing more kids out and about, we want to remind everyone of the Village’s curfew guidelines.

Children under the age of 15 are not permitted to be out on public streets after 10:00 PM unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Those ages 15–17 are not permitted to be out after 11:00 PM unless accompanied. Exceptions apply for school or Village-sponsored events, but juveniles are expected to head home within 30 minutes after those activities end.

We’re typically not overly strict with curfew enforcement, but when we begin seeing issues like vandalism, property damage, or other disruptive behavior—as shown in the attached video—we will increase enforcement to help keep our community safe and respectful for everyone.

"It's just some kids being kids, pushing over garbage cans" you ask? It may not be a big deal to you, until it's your garbage that you have to clean up, your can that's broke, or your property being damaged. This type of behavior tends to escalate into more aggressive behavior and damage.

We ask parents to please be aware of the time and where your kids are to help us keep Georgetown a great place to live.

Every now and then when we’re on duty, someone will pick up our lunch. It’s never expected, but it’s always appreciated more than people probably realize. Those small gestures mean a lot to the men and women out there working.

Yesterday was one of those moments that stuck with me a little differently.

Three of us were eating at Parker’s when one of the guys from the kitchen came out and said, “ your meals are paid for, I appreciate what you do.”

Now, people have bought us meals before and it’s always incredibly kind. But for some reason this one hit differently. Not because I assume anyone else has more or less money than the next person—but seeing someone who is back there working hard in the kitchen, taking their own earned money and choosing to spend it on three officers… that really meant something.

That’s someone who is grinding through their day just like everyone else, and they still chose to show appreciation.

To the young man working in the kitchen at Parker’s yesterday—thank you. Not just for the meal, but for the reminder that kindness and support are still alive in our community.

It didn’t go unnoticed, and it meant more than you probably know.

We appreciate you.

These students chose to participate earning their PBIS tickets and using them to “buy” chances for lunch with us. That says a lot about their character and the positive choices they’re making every day. We are proud of each of you!

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a school program that rewards students for positive behavior, and they earn PBIS tickets by consistently demonstrating respectful, responsible, and safe actions throughout the school day.

A huge thank you to Principal Kratzer, Principal Cameron, and the Georgetown School District for allowing us to partner together and help organize this program, there were many working parts to this and a lot of help by staff at both buildings. We also appreciate the parents for supporting your kids and encouraging them to be leaders in their school.

And we absolutely could not have done this without our incredible sponsor and community partner, Gold Star Chili in Georgetown. They paid for everything — including the chaperones’ meals — and wouldn’t take no for an answer. They have chosen to do this partnership for 6 kids every month throughout the school year. Make sure you stop by and show them your appreciation and tell them thanks for us.

Programs like this are special because of the support and love our community shows for our young people. We got to talk, laugh, have fun, and yes… even watch as kids dipped french fries into their shakes. 🍟🥤

We’re already looking forward to next month. Keep earning those PBIS tickets — you never know when you might be the next Blue Line Leader!

Every morning, I stop in to see my preschool buddies, and honestly, it’s the highlight of my day. I get tiny high-fives, big hugs, and very serious updates and conversations about superheroes, what's on my vest, and they like my beard.

They don’t care that I’m the Chief — they just know I show up. And that means a lot to me. Starting my day with their smiles and laughter is the best part of the day.

Thanks to Chief Inlow for stopping by preschool for Breakfast with a Cop on Tuesday. Our students enjoy having community partners visit with them!
