Teens - check out these fantastic opportunities for 2027! If you are interested in being nominated, reach out to Christy at [email protected], stop in to chat, or give her a call.

In 2027, Ohio 4-H teens will have the opportunity to participate in two unique Global Immersion Projects:

Greece at the American Farm School in Thessaloniki, where participants will explore agricultural innovation, food production, leadership development, Greek culture, and iconic destinations like Meteora and the Mount Olympus region.

Austria at the LFS Pyhra Agricultural High School, where youth will work alongside Austrian students, explore agriculture and food systems, visit Vienna, hike in the Alps, and gain real-world international experience.

These experiences are designed for Ohio 4-H members who are curious about the world, passionate about agriculture, and ready to develop their leadership skills.
To apply, youth must first receive a nomination from an Ohio 4-H Professional. Then applications are sent directly to those nominated.

Nomination deadline: September 30

Interested Ohio 4-H members should contact their county 4-H Professional at their local Extension office to learn more about the nomination and selection process.

It was Egg 🥚 Candling Day in Mrs. Haney's 1st grade class at Hamersville Elementary! They are participating in our ChickQuest program and have an incubator in their classroom and are learning about the life cycle of an embryonic chicken egg!

Today, Christy, our 4-H Educator visited the classroom to candle the eggs and check their progress. This was egg 12 in the incubator and provided the students with the clearest view of whats going on inside!

We are excited to announce we will be offering a ServSafe Manager class in October. This class meets requirements from your local department and the Ohio Department of Health as per the Ohio Food Code. 📣

The Brown LEADS Cohort had a great session yesterday exploring Greenacres Foundation - Lewis Township while learning about Leadership in the Community from Becky Cropper and then more on their leadership philosophy and theories after a cool treat from Hometown Swirls! We are definitely excited for this BIG news. Its a COOL upgrade to the Howser Beef Arena. Thank you Brown County Cattlemen's Association for making this happen along with some other updates!

Thankful we have such strong commodity associations who continue to invest in our facilities to ensure our 4-Hers have great opportunities.

🥵 Have you ever sat in the Beef Barn during a show… fanning yourself with one of those little hand fans—or maybe even your show bill—trying to catch a break from the September heat? 😅

Well, we have some COOL news! 💨🐮

The Brown County Cattlemen’s Association recently purchased and installed TWO new giant fans in the Richard Howser Show Arena to help keep exhibitors, families, spectators, and our four-legged friends a little more comfortable during the fair!

We’re excited to make this improvement to the barn and help everyone beat the heat this September. 🙌 Be sure to look up when you’re in the Beef Barn this year—you definitely won’t miss them! 👀💨
