We will be closed Friday, September 30, due to Hurricane Ian. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to serving you on Monday.
With Hurricane Ian expected to produce local impacts including heavy rainfall, gusty winds and flash flooding, Georgetown County has decided to close county offices and facilities on Friday, Sept. 30. This is for the safety of employees and the public as Georgetown County Emergency Management encourages limited travel for those who are able to stay home and off the roads.
Courts will also be cancelled and court offices closed.
The landfill and recycling centers will close at noon on Friday.
Please note that the Auditor’s Office will continue to accept high mileage appeals for vehicle taxes due Sept. 30 on Monday, Oct. 3. Additionally, the Treasurer’s Office will delay any penalties on real estate taxes that would have gone into effect on Sept. 30. Taxes due Sept. 30 may be paid Monday, Oct. 3, without additional penalties.
