We will be closed Friday, September 30, due to Hurricane Ian. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to serving you on Monday.

With Hurricane Ian expected to produce local impacts including heavy rainfall, gusty winds and flash flooding, Georgetown County has decided to close county offices and facilities on Friday, Sept. 30. This is for the safety of employees and the public as Georgetown County Emergency Management encourages limited travel for those who are able to stay home and off the roads.

Courts will also be cancelled and court offices closed.

The landfill and recycling centers will close at noon on Friday.

Please note that the Auditor’s Office will continue to accept high mileage appeals for vehicle taxes due Sept. 30 on Monday, Oct. 3. Additionally, the Treasurer’s Office will delay any penalties on real estate taxes that would have gone into effect on Sept. 30. Taxes due Sept. 30 may be paid Monday, Oct. 3, without additional penalties.

Beginning Monday, June 3rd, 2019, Georgetown County will be on the federally mandated child support system, PACSS. If you have any questions about the new system, please visit the SC Child Support website at www.dss.sc.gov/child-support or call the State Disbursement Unit at 800-768-5858. For your convenience, we have informational pamphlets in the Clerk's Office. Copies of the information included in those pamphlets can be found below.

In anticipation of flooding, the Clerk of Court's Office will be closed until further notice. In addition, all sessions of court are also cancelled for this week.

General Sessions Court will take place on Thursday, but on a 2-hour delay. Defendants scheduled for court on Jan. 30 should appear at 11 a.m.
