ICYMI: GISD’s Board of Trustees voted to hold a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (Prop A) on this November’s ballot

If approved, Prop A would generate an estimated $8.4 million dollars annually and would be used to to address these budget priorities:
⚖️Maintain a balanced budget
🧑‍🎓Preserve Student Programs
🍎Increase Staff Compensation

🏈 East View kicked off football season with Dads & Decals night.
📚 8th grade RLA students had a campus-wide gallery walk at Benold.
🧪San Gabriel students explored Place Value and The Scientific Method in engaging rotations.

As part of our commitment to student learning, growth and progress, campuses are administering Beginning of Year (BOY) assessments over the next few weeks to students in grades K-8. Parents can expect to hear specifics from their child’s campus, including information about when results will be shared with parents.

An exception is that students who take the STAAR Alt 2 test do not take the MAP or mClass tests and will not have results sent to parents.
