If you’ve read Allen Levi‘s book “Theo of Golden,” you’ve heard about this wall. What you might not know is that it’s in a coffee shop in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Garry Pound is a well-known and respected artist in West Central Georgia. He is a meticulous observer of people and can capture not only a face but also a personality. But even the most respected regional artists rarely expect the fame that descended on Pound thanks to the novel written by his friend, Allen. Our current issue features an article on Pound by Borden Black. Pick up a copy today or read online at the link in comments. Photo by Borden Black.

Yesterday's book signing of Monica Gruenewald Pate's book, MARK'S TRAIL, was a great, successful event for our library and for our town. Our community showed up for Monica, and we counted nearly 150 people attending. We thank everyone who came and supported her, and we thank the Three Arts Club for being gracious hostesses and providing everyone with a delicious array of refreshments. We couldn't have asked for it to go any better, and we are so thankful to everyone who participated and worked to make this a successful community event. Here are a few photos. More will follow. Also watch Monica's video above. If you were there, you'll probably see yourself. There are a lot of photos, and it is just put together beautifully.

We hope to see you at RML this Saturday.

📖 WE ARE SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE! The Three Arts Club of Georgiana and Chapman is proud to sponsor a very special book signing event featuring one of our own — Monica Gruenewald Pate and her powerful new book, Mark's Trail: A Survival Guide for Navigating Mental Illness!

Monica wrote this deeply personal book in honor of her father, Mark Gruenewald, known and loved as "The Candy Man" of the county. After losing him to su***de in 2020, she discovered his private journals and knew his story had to be told. Mark's Trail is for every caregiver, survivor, and soul who has ever felt lost in the wilderness of mental illness — or loved someone who was.
