This specially designed mobility cart will help individuals with disabilities enjoy greater access to the golf course and experience the game of golf.

The cart was made possible through the generosity of numerous private donors and funding from Keno Funds. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring this wonderful addition to our community!

🚧 TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF WEST U STREET 🚧

The City of Gering would like to inform residents that West U Street, from Five Rocks Road to the Common Grounds Dog Park, will be temporarily closed for a water main replacement.

📅 Closure begins: Friday, August 28, at 2:30 p.m.
📅 Expected reopening: Sunday, August 30, at 12:00 noon

🐾 The Common Grounds Dog Park will remain accessible by using Canal Road.

Drivers and pedestrians are asked to use caution in the area and plan to take an alternate route. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

SCOTTSBLUFF AREA VISITORS BUREAU SEEKS NEW BOARD MEMBER TO REPRESENT SPORTS

The Scotts Bluff County Tourism Committee is seeking an interested and committed individual to fill a vacancy on the committee. The successful applicant will serve the remainder of a four-year term ending in December 2028.

We are specifically seeking someone who represents or has a strong interest in sports and is passionate about seeing sports opportunities and tourism-related activities in our area grow.

About the Committee

The Scotts Bluff County Tourism Advisory Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners. The committee consists of seven at-large members and one Scotts Bluff County Commissioner liaison.

The Tourism Advisory Committee meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at 1:15 p.m. Meeting locations will be determined on a monthly basis.

Applicants must be able to regularly attend scheduled meetings and be willing to make participation on the committee a meaningful commitment. We are seeking an individual who is eager to contribute ideas, share their expertise and help strengthen tourism opportunities throughout Scotts Bluff County.

The Gering City Council will hold a Budget Work Session for the FY27 Budget at Gering City Hall, 1025 P Street, Gering, Nebraska, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 8:15 a.m.
The work session is open to the public. An agenda of the meeting kept continually current is available for public inspection at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, 1025 P Street.

Gering Swimming Pool Closing for the Season

The Gering Municipal Swimming Pool will close for the 2026 season on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

Our pool staff have truly enjoyed serving the individuals and families who visited the pool throughout the summer. Thank you for making this another wonderful swim season!

We appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another fun and safe swim season in the summer of 2027.
