🚧 As of June 12,2026 work continues at a rapid pace on the outlet of Tunnel #2. Four crews are pouring 450 yards of concrete, tieing rebar and setting forms.

We are taking applications for a ditchrider in the Gering area. This position is full time year round with health and dental insurance, retirement plan, vacation, sick and personal time. Pickup provided during water season. Stop by the office at 1011 Rundell Road, Gering for an application!!

As of May 7, 2026 GFLID has 43 days of water in storage. TENTATIVELY it was decided to start water at Whalen between June 15th and June 20th, this would make delivery between June 28th and July 3rd, subject to change. At this time no decision has been made on borrowing water. We will evaluate conditions the first part of June.

At this time Gering Ft Laramie Irrigation District has 57,016acft of water available (approximately 38 days), which includes the 25,087 of carry over from 2025 (approximately 17 days).
The start date will be determined after May 1st as we gather more information and the Bureau of Reclamation's forecasts are updated and are available.
No decision has been made at this time on borrowing water.
We will continue to keep water users informed as more information is available.
