REMINDER: Tomorrow (Friday, June 26th) at 3pm, all 6th through 12th graders are invited to join us at Legion Park for Jurassic Darts, our teen NERF challenge. The scientists have stolen some dinosaur eggs and are trying to protect them. The dinosaurs are angry that their eggs have been stolen and are ready to race past the scientists to try to retrieve them. Water and snacks will be provided.

We will have door prizes donated by Logoz and Western Nebraska Community College.

Nobody wants to ruin a party right?

Within the City of Gering, fireworks are legal to set off beginning next Monday, not today. Please be aware of the change for 2026.

You can purchase fireworks beginning today. We highly suggest that if you do, admire them within the package, possibly name them and patiently wait until June 29th to celebrate our Independence.

Please be safe this firework season. Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby. Never try to relight or pick up fireworks that have not ignited. Do not discard fireworks until they are cold and out. Definitely keep your fingers by lighting fireworks on the ground and not holding them.

We had a great time at our T-Rex Tea Party. We made dinosaur feet and wore them while playing Twister, we tossed beaded necklaces and tried to get them to land on a triceratops' horn, we made tea cups to eat our snack in, and we made cute little paper top hats. It was T-riffic!

On Saturday, June 27th, from 1-3pm, we will have our monthly Board Together Board Game Club. This month it will feature a Dungeons and Dragons one-shot adventure for any age. No previous experience necessary. If you don't have a character already created that is level 5 or lower, we will have some pre-made characters that you can use.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, June 24th) at 10am, we will be digging all around to try to find some buried treasure. At our Treasure Dig Story Time, we will read some fun stories about treasure and pirates, and have some activities to help kids find treasure for themselves. We hope you arrrr as excited as we are!

Story Time is for children age 0 through kindergarten with a caregiver.

REMINDER: Tomorrow at 10am is the "Movie at the Midwest" at the Midwest Theater. All children and youth who signed up for Summer Reading should have received a free ticket to this movie, and any caregivers they bring are free as well. If you are signed up for the program and didn't receive your free ticket, stop by the library today to see if you can get one.
