District Bookkeeper Opening For 27-28 SY

Germantown Elementary School District #60 is seeking a District Bookkeeper to join our Bulldog family!

With the upcoming retirement of our longtime District Bookkeeper, Leigh Ann Arentsen, at the end of the 2026-27 school year, we are beginning our search early to provide the successful candidate with plenty of time to learn the position and ensure a smooth transition.

The District Bookkeeper is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for helping manage the financial operations of the district, including an annual budget of approximately $3 million. A background or experience in business management, administration, or accounting is preferred.

The position will officially begin July 1, 2027. However, the district has budgeted for the successful candidate to receive paid, on-the-job training throughout the 2026-27 school year. This training can be flexible and scheduled around the candidate's current work schedule and availability. The new bookkeeper will also have the opportunity to work alongside Leigh Ann during July 2027 to further assist with the transition.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, October 2, 2026, or until the position is filled, with interviews anticipated for late October and/or early November.

Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, résumé, and letters of recommendation via email to:

[email protected]

Applications may also be mailed or dropped off at:

Save the Date! 💜

We are excited to invite our Germantown families to our first SEL Family Night of the school year on September 24!

Technology is a big part of our kids’ lives, and finding the right balance isn’t always easy. This evening will give families an opportunity to come together, have some fun, and explore practical ways to build stronger connections, create healthy boundaries, and help our kids navigate a world filled with screens.

We hope you’ll join us for Connected Online, Grounded Offline from 6:00–7:30 PM. This is another opportunity for us to partner together as a school and community to support the whole child.

We would love to see you there! 💜🐾

Today, we celebrate the Class of 2027 with a group photo, honoring their role as the “top dogs” of our school. This year, we will be looking to them to lead and help us UNITE as a Bulldog family—showing pride, setting the example, and making a positive difference in our school community.

🏃‍♂️ Cross Country Meet Update 🏃‍♀️

Due to the extreme heat this week and heat index values predicted to reach the triple digits, we have made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s home cross country meet.

While we will not reschedule our home meet, we will look for an opportunity for our Bulldogs to compete in an additional race later this season.

The safety of our student-athletes, coaches, and spectators will always be our top priority. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our Bulldogs! ❤️🐾

❤️🐾 What started with one $32 donation turned into something pretty special!

Last week, we shared the story of Silas donating $32 of his own saved money toward our new gym. Since then, members of our Bulldog community stepped up to “match Silas,” and those donations just kept coming!

Altogether, the Match Silas effort raised an incredible $1,448!

The students pictured represent just some of the families who contributed. We had many more students, families, staff members, and community members donate, and we simply want to say THANK YOU! Every donation, no matter the amount, continues to move us closer to making our new gym a reality.

With these donations, our Final Push has now raised $320,415! Combined with our Rock Fest proceeds, our community has raised an incredible $695,415 — 92.72% of our goal!

It is pretty amazing to see what can happen when one student's generosity inspires an entire community to step up. ❤️🐾

We’re getting closer, Bulldogs! Let’s keep pushing toward that finish line!
