Our Q4 Pep Rally brought the energy as we celebrated an incredible season of spring sports, school spirit, and Mustang pride! Students cheered on their classmates, competed in crowd-favorite games, and helped make the gym one of the loudest places in town for the afternoon.

A big congratulations to Lipizzan for earning the final Spirit Stick of the year! The competition was strong all year long, and our students showed great teamwork, enthusiasm, and house pride every step of the way. What a fun way to close out another great year at HMS!

Our National Junior Honor Society students showed what Mustang leadership looks like in action at the Mid-South Food Bank!

This amazing crew created 250 food boxes, sorted 2,385 pounds of food, and helped prepare 2,862 meals for families in our community. We are so proud of these students for using their time and talents to serve others with kindness, teamwork, and heart.

There are two kinds of people in the world: the ones who walk past a problem, and the ones who pop a storm drain and fix it.

Mr. Ringo? Definitely the second kind.

When a very stressed momma duck started sounding the alarm, most of us would’ve just thought, “quack right back atcha.” Not Mr. Ringo. He paid attention, realized her brand new ducklings were trapped in the storm drain, and got to work. Grate off, plan in motion, calm under pressure, like it was just another Tuesday.

And just like that, a full family reunion. Tiny peeps, big relief, and one very grateful momma duck.

Proof that sometimes being a hero looks less like a cape and more like knowing when to step in and help… even if your audience is a bunch of very loud, very tiny critics.

We’re lucky to have people like Mr. Ringo around here.

Order in the court… HMS understood the assignment.

A recent “Toontown Trial” turned Ms. Howard’s forensic science class and Ms. Brooks’ career exploration class into a full-blown courtroom drama—and let’s just say, these students did not come to play.

We had prosecutors building their case, defense attorneys poking holes in every detail, a judge keeping things (mostly) under control, and a jury that had to sit through all of it and actually decide who did it. No pressure.

From analyzing evidence to delivering arguments that would make a TV lawyer proud, students got a hands-on look at what careers in law, forensics, and criminal justice really feel like… and it’s a lot more than just dramatic objections and pointing fingers.

The verdict?
Guilty of being one of the coolest cross-curricular collaborations we’ve seen.

Huge shoutout to Ms. Howard and Ms. Brooks for making learning this engaging—and to our student attorneys and jurors who may or may not be planning their future law firm names already.

They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but in Mr. Constant’s case… you get exactly what you see: a big, good-hearted teddy bear who shows up for kids every single day.

This year, he jumped into our admin team with both feet and hasn’t looked back. Whether he’s supporting students, solving problems, or just being a steady, calm presence in the chaos that is middle school, he leads with care, consistency, and a whole lot of heart.

Mr. Constant doesn’t just talk about doing what’s right—he models it. He holds students accountable while still making sure they know someone’s in their corner, and that balance isn’t easy to pull off (especially in a building full of middle schoolers with opinions).

And let’s be honest—his sense of humor? Elite. The kind that sneaks up on you and makes a long day feel a little lighter.

We are incredibly lucky he chose HMS, and even luckier that our students get to learn from someone who genuinely cares as much as he does.

Happy Assistant Principal’s Week, Mr. Constant—we’re really glad you’re ours.
