⚠️ Here’s why this is serious in northern Henderson County:

6 inches of rain in just 2 hours is incredibly dangerous.

For perspective — that’s more rain than parts of the area saw in April and most of May combined… in only 2 hours. Add in several inches from previous days and the flood threat rises quickly.

Water rescues are underway, which is why this warning was upgraded to “Considerable.”

This is especially concerning during summer camping season.

Please stay away from creeks, streams, and flooded roads tonight.

Please everyone stay home. Most of the roads in and around gerton are damaged. We have dot enroute but it is going to take time. Many roads may look okay but have nothing under them. Please for your safety stay where you are until we can get assessment done and start emergency repairs

Please stay in Many of the roads in our area are flooded or damaged from these storms. We are working several calls at the same time. DOT has been notified and is enroute to help with the road closures. Please call 911 if you have an emergency Just stay in and only call 911 if you have a true emergency.
