**** UPDATE **** Missing Person Located Deceased

Hubbard-Donald-Aurora Police Department is saddened to announce that 69-year-old Rafael Arellano-Cortez, who was reported missing on August 25, 2026, has been located deceased.

Rafael was located in a wooded area just west of Hubbard on Broadacres Rd NE on August 26, 2026, at about 1512 hours. At this time, there is no indication of foul play.

We extend our deepest condolences to Rafael’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Hubbard-Donald-Aurora Police Department would also like to sincerely thank everyone who assisted in the search, shared information, and provided support throughout the effort to locate Rafael.

We especially wish to recognize and thank our partner agency, Salem Police Department, for responding to assist with the search. Their K9 Bloodhound, Shelby, and her handler, Officer A. Morse, played an important role in locating Rafael during difficult conditions.

We are grateful to our Hubbard community, Hubbard Fire District, NEWCOM 911, and all our public safety partners for their time, resources, and assistance.

No further assistance from the public is requested at this time.

Our thoughts remain with Rafael’s family and loved ones.

Rafael Arellano-Cortez, 69, is missing and has been diagnosed with medical conditions. He was last seen around 1:30 PM on August 25th.

He is suspected of leaving on foot, walking from the 3200 block of 4th St., Hubbard.

Rafael is approximately 5'5" tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds. Rafael was last seen wearing a blue/greenish button-up shirt, an unknown-color sweater, gray pants, black-and-white, possibly Nike, shoes, and prescription glasses.

The Gervais Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an individual who fled from police earlier today.

**Description:**
• Hispanic male, approximately 20–30 years old
• Approximately 5'2"–5'5" tall about 130-150 lbs.
• Black long-sleeve shirt
• Black pants
• Black hat with black writing
• Scarf or type of face covering worn around his neck

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for National Night Out! We truly appreciate the opportunity to spend the evening with our community, meet so many great people, and connect with families, neighbors, and local partners.

Your support, conversations, and enthusiasm made the event a great success. Events like National Night Out help strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community we proudly serve.

National Night Out is still happening TODAY from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Located on 7th St. Sacred Heart Baseball Field.

We're expecting a warm evening, so we'll have plenty of cold drinks available, shaded areas where possible, and water activities to help stay cool. As always, please use your best judgment. The heat and air quality may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those in sensitive groups.

We'll see you tonight for an evening of community fun!
