Welcome in 2026 with --- The New Look of the Site --- at www.GettysburgChronicles.com

The site is slowing coming online, so you can view some of the stories I've posted there. It's a work in progress, but the layout is better to read with less family trees. There will be some posts, but mostly stories of the Civil War, the history, and what to see if you visit town. If you have any questions, just ask here on the FB page or on the website.

Did you hear where the "Spur" is? Read all about it, railroad lovers!

Jennie's beloved friend, possible her future husband, was Jack Skelly. His birth certificate read Johnston Hastings "Jack" Skelly Jr. (1841–1863) A Union Corporal within the 87th Pennsylvania Infantry, he was shot in the upper arm at the Second Battle of Wi******er on June 15th. He passed away due to his wounds 9 days after his "Jennie" died in a field hospital, not knowing his loved ones would never see him again. He is buried behind the Jennie Wade monument about 75-80 yards.
Here is his gravesite at the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in July 2013.
