Big shout out to a few local businesses for donating equipment, time and materials for some projects around the station!
Thank you American Power And Excavation and Long Shot Backhoe Service for helping replace our parking lot meterial and fix drainage issues with use of equipment . Also to Hobbs Trucking Inc for dumping materials for the parking area . As well as the countless hours from our membership doing things around the station the last few weeks! Thank you all! The community’s continued support makes all this possible!

Tonight we Brushed up on some driving skills and techniques. As well as some of our new drivers getting a chance in a controlled environment to practice. Big thanks to The Barn Resort for giving us use of the parking lot .

Over the past few weeks we have been training in some advanced extrication techniques. This allows us to use some of the tools we wouldn’t normally have the chance to on the average auto accident .

Company 23 units are on site assisting with the Gettysburg Bike Week activities. We will have crews onsite all weekend . Thanks to the Bike week Committee for the support! Stop by and say hi if you’re at the event!

At approximately 3:10 pm today company 23 and Frederick county company 6 (Emmitsburg) were alerted for a vehicle fire at Mason Dixon farm, which happened to be a large wheel loader. Engine tanker 23 responded with four. Duty 23 checked up and responded to the scene. Engine Tanker 23, Frederick 6, and duty 23 arrived simultaneously. The crew from 23 and 6 stretched lines and started fire attack. Duty 23 assumed command and requested the box be filled due to the amount of fire and extension to the storage areas. Units from Frederick and Carroll assisted on this call.

Today Engine 23 responded with three personnel to Box 1 in Gettysburg for the residential fire.
Engine 23 arrived and assigned to assist with fire attack and overhaul.
