Pack up the marshmallows and head to your favorite South Dakota State Park to celebrate the start of Summer Camping Season 2026! Join us this weekend, May 15-17, to celebrate the start of summer! It's our annual Open House and Free Fishing Weekend, which means South Dakota State Park entry is free and no fishing license is required. Regulations and limits still apply.

Attention West Whitlock Recreation Area Campers and Anglers- here is a throwback photo from a few years ago when West Whitlock's Conservation Tech Jordan Roman got to fish instead of working on our area's fish cleaning stations!!! Jordan and his crew have been busy getting the fish cleaning stations open at West Whitlock, Bush's Landing and Little Bend and are currently working on Bob's Landing. We will keep you updated.
