What an amazing accomplishment by so many that will serve so many. The giving continues through August as we reach toward our $10,000 goal.

Today is the last official day of GLEAN-A-MANIA, and we are so thankful for all of the support and accomplishments from this week. 🥰Over 40 gracious donors between Adams and Franklin Counties supported our organization, allowing us to rescue over 15,000 pounds of produce and perishables IN ONE WEEK!👏

We work hard to distribute that produce to friends and neighbors facing food insecurity through our SCCAP free produce stands, as well as deliveries to our community partners.

And if you're ever curious about what happens to the produce even we can't use...in Gettysburg, any food waste goes to feed cows, pigs, and chickens, and in Chambersburg we work with our friends at Dickinson College Farm to use their waste-to-energy biodigester, turning moldy, bad food into biodiesel fuel! We try our best to make sure all of the food we receive does not end up in the landfill!💪

What an incredible week it’s been so far, thanks to so so many. We appreciate you all. Together we are feeding our community nutritious delicious produce. We’re about halfway to our $10,000 goal. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Every dollar, like every piece of produce, makes a difference. 

Day four, and it was a sweaty one...but all for good reason! Today we rescued over 2,400 pounds of produce, thanks to our generous local growers big and small: MUDCOLLEGE Farm; Moon Valley Farm; and numerous backyard and community gardens! Also a huge thanks to our wonderful retail donors such as: Weis, Giant, and Walmart through Feeding America!

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to make better use of so much food, and for helping us support our neighbors facing food insecurity.

Day THREE of Glean-a-Mania has come and passed, and we are SO thankful for the work we are able to do every week. Today we rescued over 1600 pounds of food, which we have been able to distribute through our free produce stands at both SCCAP offices, as well as deliver to some of our lovely community partners!

We know not everyone has the means to visit our stand, so we try our best to make food accessible at various spots throughout Adams and Franklin Counties! Thank you to our generous donors for allowing us to make better use of food that typically ends up in landfills, and thank you to our wonderful community partners, for the hard work they face each and every day, and for giving us the space to share our goodies to their clients!

What an incredible day of gleaning. Thank you to everyone involved.

Glean-a-Mania Day 2 has wrapped up, with gleans hosted in BOTH Biglerville and Mercersburg today! Thank you Jed and Mark, our generous farmers for letting us into their fields, and thank you to our hardworking volunteers for gleaning in the hot sun! ☀️

On top of our glean totals, we also received many donations from community gardens and backyard gardens, as well as our friends at 78 Acres and New Hope Ministries in Pennsylvania, all totaling to a whopping 6,975!!😮

This food will be distributed through our SCCAP produce stands, as well as through community partners such as assisted living homes, soup kitchens, and many others!❤️
