Behind every grant we award is a local story of resilience, growth, and community.

From strengthening local food security programs to expanding workforce development opportunities across Adams County. Your generosity to the Fund for Adams County creates lasting, local change. When we pool our resources, even a small contribution turns into a major Community Foundation grant for non-profits on the front lines.

The most important charitable gifts aren’t always the ones we see. The best philanthropy isn’t measured by the recognition it receives. It is measured by the lives that are better because someone cared enough to give.

🐘 No Elephants Without Hay

There's an old saying: "No elephants without hay."

Without a sustainment plan for the Gettysburg Welcome Center, all we've created is a future liability.

🌟Thanks to our designated endowment with the Adams County Community Foundation, the Welcome Center is positioned for long-term sustainability.

Your gift will help ensure it remains:

✅ Clean
✅ Staffed
✅ Maintained
✅ Ready to serve
..for generations to come.

The Shirley Smith Youth Service Fund at the Adams County Community Foundation benefits young people, ages 14-24, with grants to support service projects.

The Fund is proud to support Caleb Sellers' Eagle Scout project with a $7,000 grant. His project will add a historically inspired 1880s-style bandstand to Alumni Park, creating an accessible gathering space for musical performances while building on the park's tribute to the unifying power of music. We can't wait to see this new community landmark come to life!

Generosity doesn't happen by accident. It's learned, modeled, and passed from one generation to the next.

This Father's Day, our own Matt Thomas reflects on a childhood lesson that shaped his understanding of giving and community. His story is a reminder that some of the most important values are taught not through words, but through example.
