The public is invited to attend Mt. Lebanon Historical Society’s Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Our guest speaker will be George Sirven, Station Manager for KPXJ and KTBS 3 News. Sirven was the first Community Projects Director for KTBS. The projects included the Labor Day MDA Telethon, Mash Bash blood donation drive, KTBS 3 St. Jude Dream Home, July 4th Freedom Fest, Marines Toys for Tots, and the One Class at a Time community project that gives area teachers thousands of dollars to improve their classrooms.
Our slate of Officers, Board Members, and Advisory Board Members will be presented for the 2026-2027 term. We will also conduct a memorial service for our members whom we lost in 2025: Peggy Baker Cannada, Gloria “Cookie” Shaffer Coffey, Betty Lee Dance Coit, Frances Joyner, Rev. Charles Middleton, Kay Boyd Smiddy, Billie Ann Thurmond, Angela Skipper Towns, and Martha Jowers Whittington . Following the meeting, refreshments will be served at the Stagecoach Trail Museum.

Directions to the church: On Interstate 20, take the Athens – Gibsland exit 61 and travel through Gibsland. Continue south on Highway 154 for about 3 miles until you reach the caution light. Turn right. The church will be directly ahead on the left.
