The City Of Gibson is applying for a grant for a safe/storm room for the the citizens of Gibson and those living around the area who would need a safe place to go in the event of a storm or natural disaster. We are needing the communities help, and have a short time to get this done. We have to submit surveys with the grant and need all the support we can get to make this happen. Surveys can be picked up at the Gibson City Hall, or you can contact city hall and someone will try and bring you one of your unable to get out. The surveys have to be submitted by March 31. Thanks for your assistance in this matter.

Praying for the victims 🙏.

This means the west KY tornado was a separate 168-mile path (roughly). That also means that the 1925 tri-state tornado (219 miles) stands for now.

The Gibson Police Department, Brianna McKa Hardin and I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU, to Greenfield McDonald’s.
We ordered 200 sandwiches for storm victims, and they completely shut the store down, just to complete our order.
Some of their employees even went in, just to help.
Manager Crystal Mealer, was very motivating to her team, and is a great leader!

Please help us by thanking the store and employees:
Nate Lyell
Contrevious Williams

We greatly appreciate your help and amazing work!

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Deputy Hayes. We are keeping Deputy Hayes and his family, in our thoughts and prayers. As a small token of appreciation, for his dedication and duty to our community, we have lowered the American flag, located at the Gibson City Hall, to half staff, in honor of Deputy Hayes. A moment of silence was also observed in his honor.

Heavenly Father, I bow my head before you, and ask you to be with the family and friends, of Deputy Hayes. Lord, please watch over his family, and give them strength during these difficult times.

Amen

New laws take effect on July 1st, including the new constitutional carry law. Individuals 21 and older, along with members of the military ages 18 to 20, can carry handguns without a permit where the law allows. Here is a quick reference guide to help you understand the changes.

FYI,

The Town of Gibson does allow fireworks until 10pm, before July 4th.

On July 4th, all firework celebrations must end by 12:00 midnight.

We hope everyone has a safe and healthy holiday. Please stay safe, and don't drink and drive.
The Gibson Police Department will be enforcing all laws from now through July 4th, including traffic laws.

We want everyone to enjoy the holiday safely and responsibly.

Thanks,
Chief Brad Hardin
