Pine-Richland is a public school district that is located in the most northern portion of Allegheny County, PA, which served more than 4,600 students K-12. The district has seen its population double since the early nineties. As a result PRSD is noted for having first-rate fa

cilities amid a strong academic reputation. The district covers 21 square miles. This region of Allegheny County is characterized by suburban/semi-rural development, both residential and some commercial. The district is framed by Route 8, a north south road running through the eastern part of the district and Route 79, which lies just west of the district boundaries. These roads create great access to this part of Allegheny County and are a major factor in the growth of the district. The growth of the district parallels the growth of our reputation for quality educational programs. As we grow, PR maintains a warm and caring environment with an excellent academic reputation. The district provides a future-focused approach to planning and operations, thanks to strong leadership by the board, administrative team, teachers and non-teaching staff coupled with strong participation from teachers, students and community members. Pine-Richland's Athletic Hall of Fame Committee will recognize the Class of 2026 the weekend of October 9 and we invite the community to celebrate with us!

Members of the new class will be officially inducted into the Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 9, at 6:45, just before football kickoff. The new class of inductees will then be celebrated on Saturday, October 10, with a banquet in the high school cafeteria starting at 6:00 pm.

On Thursday, we welcomed our teachers and staff back with a star-studded celebration featuring members of our orchestra, JROTC cadets, choir, marching band, color guard, dance team, and cheerleaders! We highlighted six teachers who graciously took time to talk to their colleagues about different teaching strategies: Nikki Deane, Crystal Krepin, Carly Tansimore, Mark Perry, Paula Ferris, and Lacey Hohman. PREA hosted another successful food drive! It was a great way to start off the 2026-2027 school year!

Ninth-graders Donovan DeHart and Carson Koch and junior Macie Wahl will see their faces featured in the bright lights of Times Square on Saturday, September 12, as part of the annual National Down Syndrome Society Times Square Video Presentation.

The image, originally taken last February during the Tim Tebow Foundation's "Night to Shine" worldwide prom event, will appear on two giant Jumbotron screens above Father Duffy Square in the heart of New York City. The photo of Donovan, Carson, and Macie was selected from more than 2,700 international entries.

The hour-long presentation features over 500 photographs of children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome from all 50 states and 12 countries. Designed to promote visibility, acceptance, and inclusion, the presentation officially kicks off the flagship New York City Buddy Walk in Central Park.
