Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service- Lee County, Lee County Soil and Water Conservation District, USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Service and others are hosting the Local Work Group Meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office-Lee County 310 S Grimes St Giddings, TX 78942. Registration will start at 5:00pm and program will start at 5:30pm. Please RSVP for dinner count by April 15, 2026 to 979-542-2753. Meal provided by city Meat Market in Giddings.

Why Participate? Your input is needed! Help determine natural resource priorities and criteria for USDA-NRCS conservation and programs planning for the upcoming fiscal year. 1 GEN CEU hour will be offered for current TDA pesticide applicator holders for $10, all other topics no charge. Bring exact cash or check made out to LEE LAB

The Lone Star Healthy Streams program will cover the cost routine analysis of two soil samples per attendee. Soil sample testing should be from pasture or rangeland areas. Soil samples should be brought to the education meeting on April 22. No official bag is needed for drop-off; lab bags will be provided at the meeting. Soil sampling instructions are found on the soil submittal form at the AgriLife Extension Soil, Water and Forage Testing Laboratory website. Bring a check to pay for testing

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices of Grimes, Lee, Waller and Washington Counties will host the South Central Texas Landowners Program which is designed for new landowners as well as those seeking to refresh their knowledge on land stewardship, management practices, and available resources.
This program aims to help participants better understand the responsibilities and opportunities that come with owning and managing rural property. Sessions will cover a variety of topics important to land stewardship, including best management practices for soil, water, and wildlife; understanding property tax valuation options; and navigating local, state, and federal resources available to landowners.
Whether you’ve recently purchased property, inherited land, or simply want to strengthen your management strategies, this program will provide the tools and connections you need. It’s about helping landowners make informed decisions that benefit both their land and the surrounding community. Join us for a Texas Well Owners Network (TWON) event on February 2–3 to learn how to protect your well, understand water testing results, and care for your water supply with confidence.

Get your well's water quality tested for FREE! On February 2 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM drop off your water samples at Bastrop County AgriLife and Lee County AgriLife. Then attend the workshop on February 3 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in Bastrop County and 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in Lee County.

The program will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Lexington ISD MEC building at 8403 US 77 in Lexington. Registration is at 8:15am and the program will start at 8:45 am.
